It would be worth listening to that last “road to Cheltenham” it’s towards the end when they go through the novice divisions. I just got the impression that although Gauloise has the best course form he doesn’t consider her massively in front of others at home - which is interesting given the huge price differences & Willie’s likely to run as many as he can in this.

I've watched and listened to Patrick a hell of a lot over the past couple of seasons, as he's become the media guy for the stable.
But has he actually provided any really useful titbits at any stage.
A hell of a lot of what he's said hasn't been of any use from what I can remember.

He's as much use as a cream cracker without the butter, nutritious, but hard to swallow and not very tasty.

He’s been on the best horses in many races and failed. For me he wins enough big races to avoid the scrutiny other jockeys would face if they rode like he does. I find him a bit tentative over fences especially in the final few furlongs. I’d still back the horses he rides because they are usually the better ones in a race unfortunately. I wouldn’t be surprised if he retired soon from competitive racing and became Willies deputy.

Patrick is very good at diversion. He's learnt to be a politician from his Dad and taken it to new levels.

It's not relevant really but when Patrick was setting out in the saddle as a young lad he used to contribute to the original racing forum I used to run and contribute to. Most on there didn't know it was him. In those days he was asking more question than he was answering to be fair, but he was quite willing to share information privately. He wouldn't do that now. I suspect he's more likely to find some way to divert or answer another question. I'd be sure you wouldn't get a straight answer about anything that really mattered.

Its certainly an open looking race so I wouldn't like to say she can't win it but on what she's shown so far I wouldn't be a backer.

It might be worth watching for any handicap entries for Queens Brook at the Festival. She could end up being well treated in something like the Coral Cup where they usually go a good gallop.

She's shown diddly squat this year even over 2m3 on softer.

3 mares Mullins has entered for the DRF grade 1 novice hurdles, hook up & Gauloise in the Deloitte & finest evermore whos surely not good enough in the 2m6 race.

Ranging from 10s-14s i'd say she's not too underestimated now given she won a race at 1/6 where the 4/1 shot fell at the first...?

You wouldn't think she's suddenly lost all her ability, and it's more likely handicaps have been a long term plan unless the mares race cut up.
