  • I thought Gauloise was good and still plenty left to work on. She did land quite steeply after 2 or 3 hurdles and that is a slight worry but she's obviously talented.

      • Didn't see the race but did catch some of Mullins interview and it sounded like he fancied JOB horse to win if they met again.
Flat rating of 104 and only her second time over hurdles.

Only half heard the interview. Anybody confirm that's what he said?

I put mighty blue in my tracker but her head carriage was a tad high which is a negative

              • Just watched Gauloise win back. Workmanlike rather than impressive. Plenty of improvement to come I suspect though. Will she turn out to be his number one in the race........not sure.

                • Just watched the race back to confirm what I thought and while she was impressive enough a worry for me is that she shifted or jumped right at nearly all the hurdles it was minor at some and obviously quite extreme at the last but either way it isn't ideal for cheltenham.

                  • I think galouise looks impressive but does anyone else think she maybe just jumps a touch to her right?... that would be my only slight concern

                    • I know what you mean. It wouldn’t worry me as it is, but her only 2 runs have been at thurles and really you’d want to see her go left handed before passing judgement as it could show itself up much worse. I watched a replay of Farouk D’Alenes win at down royal recently, and I didn’t notice it initially but there are hints of his wanting to go right there, then it was markedly worse on his next start going left handed.

                      • Yes it wouldn't be surprising if she was kept right handed until the festival though taking in the graded mares novice at fairyhouse. So probably wont find out till the day.

                        • I thought she jumped right aswell, but end of the day was clearly better then the rest of the field today..id rather hook up though at this point in time

                            • Re Gauloise.....

Champion trainer Mullins said: "At home it looked like she had improved and she showed me that at the track.
"I think she is going to improve again and the minimum trip is no problem to her. Paul said she took off with him after the second-last and he wasn't expecting that sort of response.

"He thinks she had to show stamina to stay after opening up her lead, so all in all it's looking good for her. I'd imagine she might have one more run before Cheltenham, but she looks like she's good enough to go up in grade."

She clearly impressed him a lot.

Looks to have won quite comortably by the line.

                                A bit green still?

Definitely not a horse you'd class as a banker, but she had put away a decent field there fairly easily?

                                I like her.
100% Kev, off the bend a little niggle from PT and she was jumping with the front 2.

She looks smart, Solerina next I would imagine which she will class with her own stable, unless he keeps her and Hook Up apart.
