  • A serious injury, with potential months out - or season ending - ought to be made public asap by the horses connections.

The horses are bought by the owners, and race for the punters money (via Levy, Bookmakers Sponsorship/Media Rights etc) plus some non-bookmakers sponsorship.

The Aramon saga stank this season - as a minimum with a bad injury, information should be released early that the horse is injured, and an update will follow.

    • Not saying anything is not misleading.

Agree it's the journalist's job and they should be the one's being criticised not connections.

I'm not sure whether or nor I mentioned it at the time but Kemboy wouldn't have been able to run at Punchestown had it gone ahead. His injury happened while racing was suspended and is now apparently healed, given that he was able to run last week. If I didn't mention it, it was because I didn't think it important enough. As I said before, I talked about Robin being a doubt for Cheltenham pretty much straight away because some were openly discussing her chances.

She’s the one I’m hoping could be the Mullins mare this year Spectre.

Scooby wrote an interesting piece on his blog about them buying Gamin Original first (I think it was) and went back in and bought Gauloise, hope I’ve got that the right way round.

Been at Mullins for a good while to acclimatise as he normally does.

The owner of the club isn't the one who should be releasing news on players, so I agree it isn't the owners sole responsibility, but I do agree with the mantra that it should be made public as soon as possible.

I would personally feel mislead by you if Kemboy was out for the season and you only mentioned it if Kemboy came up in conversation! I'll have to mention Presenting Certainty absolutely walloping him every day and that'll cover all bases? - couldn't help myself!

In completed races, I think that Kemboy is still winning the head to head.

            • I fully understand not giving out info re fit horses that People own as it might hinder getting decent odds on them before the masses. But not saying when horses are injured? Doesn't help anyone as far as I can make out.

              • As it's a JP horse, it's quite conceivable that Gypsy Island is at Martinstown and Fahey has no further information. It's still down to the journalist to ask the question and relate the answer.

                • Shewearsitwell priced up at 2/1 for Royal Bond . Concertista is 6's. If the latter is in the same form as Cheltenham then she's way too big surely?

Best to be careful on these two Lobos. They are both entered for a mares Grade 2 on Saturday over 2 1/2 miles. Its a more valuable race than the Royal Bond

Priced up on likelyhood of where they will show up I'd say.
I think SWIW will def take up the Royal Bond but wouldnt be so sure on Concertista

                        Makes sense.

I'd say the other entry Finest Evermore will run on Saturday over 2 1/2. SWIW has ran over the minimum all her life + Concertista hasn't run well when stepped up in trip. Also, it's a G2 wouldn't really progress Concertista's page and she'd have to carry 5pd more.

I think they may run both mares in the mares race and SWIW in the Bond.
He has stated they are going for the Mares hurdle with concertista, so the open grade 2 would be a good stepping stone.
Getaway Gorgeous will probably go on the handicap.
And SWIW & Ngolo in the Bond.

                            But we're not Willie.

                            • Had some on the 25s for Gauloise before her run tomorrow. For all I think SWIW could be another laurina-style winner, she’s awfully short for a race like this at 5/1 before Christmas. If I had to throw a stone at SWIW, I guess it would be unlike Mullins to have one of his best ones running over the summer. But I guess she’s proved she is that good on track. Just wouldn’t be for me at the prices currently
