We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.
I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Epatante in the Mares Novice Hurdle should be like Ch**pagne F**er on here - never mentioned!
How the f**k can she get beat that day and then go and win a champion Hurdle the year after. 11 of her first 12 races she won.. including a champion hurdle but she can’t win the worst renewal of any race at the festival ever. Absolutely terrible race and she got beat. Some of us had double figure prices. Henderson seemed to think she couldn’t be beat. I thought she was a good thing.
Kev it still angers me.
I propose it becomes a CF situation and FJ refuses to mention it in all future discussions of this race..
Has anyone got any latest news on SWIW just having a little look at where i stand with my ante post and realise if it wasnt for her i would be sat on some nice tickets, looking for a bit of reassurance/confirmation etc???!
Ruby said on the road to Cheltenham a few weeks ago that she had a small setback but would be back for Cheltenham no problem. Wouldn’t surprise me if she went there without another run, that wouldn’t be unususual for Willie with a mare I’d have thought.
I remember Rory Delargy or Kevin Blake remarking before on a podcast how bad Nicky's horses run first time out in a hood - she wore the hood fto in the mares novice, it was a prime example.
What sort of a stat is that ?
Why would Nicky's horses run badly in hoods first time out ?
The horses clearly have bad memories associated.
I’ve not come across that one before but it’s a strange stat and almost contrary to most other horses reaction to the first time hood.
Given Nicky’s ‘fondness’ for a mare, I’m surprised Epatante had not worn a hood many times before.... along with a gag and a plethora of other restraints.

It was on the Final Furlong podcast about a year ago, one of the pundits put up a Henderson horse for the weekend ahead and the other piped in after and remarked the horse was in a first time hood so he would be avoiding like the plague. Went on to further explain that Nicky's usual strike rate of horses is about 20-25% (I don't have exact figures, just guessing), but he went back on all of Nicky's runners over last year who ran in first time hood and it came out to something like a 3% strike rate (the figure was startling anyway from memory).
They tried to explain it and were of the assumption he perhaps didn't school or train any of his in hoods, just shoved them on at the race course hoping for the best. Idea being to calm down runners who may not be used to larger fields, but it would have the opposite effect as horses maybe get worked up not being able to hear properly or just the feel of it around their ears putting them off. Epatante and a few others were examples of how it failed spectacularly first time out.
I'm basically paraphrasing the conversation there, would have to do fierce digging to find it, but it was enough to convince me why she bombed at Chelt in the Mares Novice. Hopefully someone else on the forum remembers that podcast, it was something you wouldn't forget anyway.

Very, very good news if correct. Fingers crossed. I'd given up on her I must say
Re FF pod - sounds very much like something Delargy would say. I think I’d probably stopped listening by then mind. Delargy apart, it’s an awful caricature of what it once was that show.

I used to listen religiously myself but it really is awful nowadays. Far better out there now thankfully.
Interesting that based on the early prices Hook Up is on the drift with Delvino into JF and Royal Kahala shortening aswell.
Not sure if their form amounts to anything, it would center around your opinions on Castra Ventura I suppose. Will be hoping Hook Up gets smashed in and then smashes up as those 40/1 vouchers will look particularly juicy.

...Mullins says she has a tough task today, stepping up in class and distance;
Big day for people on Hook Up at 50s. Delvino was so impressive the last day and never looked to be in any trouble when beating Castra Vatera who is a good horse.
I actually put Delvino and Santa Rossa up on here last March/April. The drift on Delvino the last day was alarming and she touched 25s on the exchange and I took the stupid decision and decided to cash out.
I think for my own sanity I will have to back her again at 16s which is a fair price considering how she won and with the drift before hand I'd take it that she was expected to come on for the run.
