I hope the course continues to dry out and ends up good / good to soft on Tuesday, purely for Verdana Blue to give me a run for my money in the champion hurdle
I am totally with you on that. On good ground, she has a real e/w chance. She's still in the Mares and I have no idea why; she doesn't stay 2m 5f and it seems a waste of an entry fee.
Nice sunny day here today. I imagine the ground is drying up quickly especially with the excellent drainage on the course. We are still expecting a lot of rain this weekend but I would be very surprised if day one is any worse than soft.
I will keep you updated every day on the weather forecast I can even test how soft it is in my back garden
It's a shame they have stopped people going over to the course leading up to the festival nowadays due to security. When I was little (about 30 years ago), my dad used to take me over on the Sunday afternoon before and stand and watch all the horses coming in from Ireland and you could check how wet the ground was. Those were great days!
What’s the weather like now nick? I know Manchester has had snow, and the inlaws live Shropshire and they have warnings of snow also. Maybe Kev you can confirm as you live not far from the inlaws and they say snow is imminent. Hopefully not traveling Cotswolds way. I’m heading down to Shropshire Sunday befor heading to Birmingham to meet up with the lads, so will be keeping a close eye on weather

I live in Cheltenham as well about half a mile away from the course. It was raining a little overnight but the sun is out at the mo. I dont think we will get any snow here, Saturday is showing as heavier rain and its meant to be intermittent rain between tomorrow and Monday with only Sunday expected to be more than showers, but to counter that is double digits in temp on sat, sun, Monday. It wont be any worse than soft, although they are saying heavy rain on Thursday but so far in front its impossible to tell.
Going to stick my neck on the line. Tuesday, soft, Wednesday, good to soft, Thursday, soft and Friday, soft to heavy. Would be happy with that, as many of my Friday picks are wanting it nice and soft. It is nice to have a change in the Going.
