Love the fact 112 comments on the weather and only 37 on the Grant National thread...
    SO true.

I appreciate the irony in my post here but WOW.

    • Sounds like you’ll need to go give them a hand forking the course in the morning Nick

      • I am presuming most people actually want to see the ground dry out as long range bets will have been placed on the basis of good to soft ground at worst?

I thought that.... do stil lthink it, but soft on day 1 wouldn't do me any harm.

I haven't actually checked later in the week properly.

          Too far away still.

They get the forecasts wrong on the day, nevermind the day before, 2 days before or a week before.

          • I live 15 miles from Cheltenham an we had heavy rain through the night, as others i was hoping for drying ground (G-S at worst), the only horse i have running for me who might relish it a bit softer is UDS

            • 14mm of rain recorded at Gloucester weather station. The one on Cleeve Hill hasn't updated for 3 hours, maybe it has flooded

Same amount on the course per their Twitter feed:

Thanks BoF. The next 48 hours unsettled so looks like we'll be starting on soft.

                  • I think what amazed me was the turftrax map shows a lot of soft yellow with a little bit of green and yesterday 90% of the track was green within two days, if its warm like they said it would be over the weekend and only light rain I still would predict g/s soft in places..

Perfect ground for a lot of horses..

It seems that I may have called it right and it does rain in sunny England.

Doesn’t take much. I think it was the Paddy Power in November it was officially good to soft on the Friday and got really testing after the rain throughout Saturday morning.

                              • I haven't been to a festival when it's raining but I imagine it is as absolute nightmare.
