Really? I could come up with a whole list of fancied horses who wouldn't want it and there are probably soft ground horses who wouldn't want it any worse.

Good to Soft provides far more of a level playing field.

    • Not many of the favourites will dislike soft ground, apart from might bite, perfect for uds, laurina, beuvair, samcro, anybody who's done the short price accs are probably very happy at minute

        • Really? Won easily 3 times on soft to heavy ground! Don't think Mr Elliot will be using that as an excuse if it gets beat, who knows though he might just declare it for the supreme tomorrow......

100% certain he is better on better ground

            • I saw the long range weather forecast way back in January and took note. It was already heavy at Cheltenham at the last meeting . I know it dries and drains quickly but only when it has a chance to . It won't dddrrryyy now will it?. I forecast going at approx.5.2 weeks ago I should've bet on it . Luckily for most of us the majority of the shorties will act on it. Oh and Faugheen and Our Duke, Shattered Love and Douvan. I'm even more confident now

              • Like I said the stats don't lie, not ground dependant, never been scratched from a race because of the ground, there will be a few questions asked if it's beaten Wednesday

                  The stats don't lie?

Just because he's won on soft/heavy ground doesn't mean that's the ground he prefers.

                  • Took the 33-1 with paddy power 3 weeks ago, can still see Mr claisse calling it soft come Tuesday, you seem to forget that faugheen has got certain horse to beat, it requires a leap of faith to think that faugheen from 2 years ago is going to turn up

                    • You seem to be missing the point, it's not good ground dependant is it?? How do you know it prefers better ground?

                      • No just the horse from November . That'll do.

I'm not missing the point MC. Samcro in not ground dependent but he is a better horse on a better surface imo. If the ground was typical festival ground i think he'd be almost impossible to beat, on really soft ground I'm not anywhere near as confident.

Very soft ground can throw up strange results and extreme going would worry me Ziggy. I'm not saying he won't win (I think he will), I just think it is a doubt.

                              • hmmm why would it throw up strange results, we've been running on soft-heavy for the last 3 months
I think the last two years have through up a few weird results with spring horses coming out of now where to win
