I couldn't decide whether to back Relegate or CoF or both with the WH DF Cheltenham double, went with Relegate on the basis I had CoF covered in the Ballymore (with a tickle on any race).....sighs, already looking forward to the post Festival lessons learned thread

I had 1/2 pt on Relegate & CoF, as had them both covered a/r, and wanted Bellshill onside so had a point on him @ 50s.

Will remember to just leave it until as close to the race as possible, if you need them to get there twice lol.

It will be interesting to see how people react to that.

If Envoi Allen wins I will not regret cashing it out, I'll be frustrated, but it was the right decision because the trainer literally said he wouldn't run - so all that's happened is I've learned the hard way that Elliott will also lie, and I can't take him at his word. (That sounds bitter, and I am annoyed, but ultimately, fair enough)

I think you have to react with honesty, or you'll never learn, whether every one does or not is another thing.

Certainly can't wait to see how I would have fared with and without the cashed out bets though, as it will ultimately decide on how I approach next season.

Wasn't that said before Malone Road got crocked, though? Not saying they don't lie, or talk in riddles, however

It was, but he could have said that too?

We don't intend to run but you never know....

That'd be fine, but twice he said he won't be going to Cheltenham and he's next years horse... so I've cashed out on that (For profit, it's not doom and gloom, rough with the smooth right!).... but my lesson is Elliott can't be taken on his word.

Whether he should have to commit to anything is another matter, no...and I've been glad he's so open, but it's tarnished now.

Exactly Kev, you made the right decision at the time based on the new info that came available, next time you will have a little more doubt about that particular source. Sure will be debated post Festival, but I just don't understand and how anyone can think cash out is anything other than beneficial to the astute punter. There is no doubt in my mind that my current overall position would be as good without it.

                  • Just tweeted Bet365 seeking info on NRNB to which they replied:

"Hi, unfortunately we don't have a time frame regarding this. Thanks."

Doesn't sound like it's anytime soon.

I would sincerely hope William Hill have not started a new trend by eliminating NRNB.

I'm sure they've planted the idea into the heads of those involved.

They'd end up having to spit out war and peace about every horse if they had to relay contingencies, too.

It's frustrating, I know. Still, we have to be happy that they gave us cashout for a while, even though we've all burnt ourselves at some point.

I actually quite like the trixie without Laurina

                        287/1

Ruby's rides all go off shorter than that don't they?
I know it won't be Ruby , But I'd take out Laurina and put Ballyward in .

                          Agree Kev
I cashed out but also have Any Race with Billies at 14/1

I love an ante post bet but where trainers have multiple entries and they’re sponsored by National bookmakers this is open to abuse , it needs to be regulated.
Rather than the bookmaker taking all NR monies why not give the punter a bet credit?
It won’t happen because it’ll adversely affect their profits.
I’d love to see just how much profit they make through NR’s
Does anyone have an inkling ?
System is flawed but we still choose to punt.

I'd put money on them going NRNB after racing on Saturday 23rd Feb.

I know a few people said their strategy would be to wait until NRNB is widespread. Is anyone still on course for that?

Wouldn't suit me but fair play to anyone who's gone this far!

Might get a few pitched in here this year
Ones that are short of a run
Would guess nrnb on the Monday
