It's bog anyway prices are always competative on the day.
He should be that price on what he showed today hopefully

I'd expect them to be shorter than 33/1 on the day ... whether he deserves it or not.

      • Barters Hill will be swerving the festival according to Pauling today...

"We will give him an easy week to see where we are and possibly look at maybe something over a slightly shorter trip, but probably nothing as grand as Cheltenham, I wouldn't think. I don't think he needs to be going there, personally”

        • Well atleast they admit he needs 2.5 not 3

          • Ok Corral for this off 144? Not sure of plans but think there’s so much more to come from him. Have requested some prices

Definitely unexposed, has no experience of such a race would be my biggest worry.

Also found quotes from Henderson post race and he mentions waiting to go chasing next year... will wait and see if he gets an entry

                    • Would love to see Vision Des Fos entered for this; no chance in the Ballymore against Samcro but would be very interesting on decent ground in this race.

                      • Update from Ben Pauling on his festival runners in which he confirms Le Breuil runs in there Coral Cup. Doesn't really tell us much more than that however other than he still thinks 139 is a very generous mark. Hopefully its time for the horse to live up to his trainers hype...

What is it about Le Breuil that people are so hung up on?

I'm currently struggling to see what bit of form has him as quite a few peoples choice for this race?

I'm not doubting anyone, more wondering if I have missed something important!

He was very impressive in beating Benatar 9 lengths at Newbury last March COD. He just looks a very classy individual to me in his races and i've a feeling theres a big performance in him. Pauling has said on a few occasions he's notorious for needing his first run and the form of his 2nd run at Aintree hasn't worked out too badly with Black Ivory winning again on his reappearance.

I had a feeling you'd bring up the Benatar hurdle form, because personally, and it is only my opinion, I do not see how that is strong form given how Benatar was over hurdles anyway, he won a class 5 maiden, then lost his next 3, including to Le Breuil, but connections wasted no time in going chasing with him, as they never saw him as a hurdler anyway.

I don't actually think the Black Ivory form is up to much either, unfortunately we will never know from Black Ivory's last run as he was brought down, but that Pertemps qualifier he ran in to follow up his victory against Le Breuil was one of the weakest qualifiers I had written down anyway, just for example, Prime Venture, who had to give Black Ivory 12lbs finished 4th only defeated by 5 3/4 lengths (not too dissimilar to how far Le Breuil was beat by Black Ivory, but giving an extra 7lb away) in total, then finished 21 lengths in his next race behind Topofthegame off level weights, yet Le Breuil and Topofthegame can be had at the same price for this race, 20/1 I believe. Form lines for me help massively, and I have no doubt that Le Breuil clearly shows plenty, but I can pick holes in his form more than many of the others, and that's not me being negative towards your opinion, in fact that is what this game is all about, it's just the way I see it.

Good luck with him, I have a couple of mates who seem to think he is a good thing for the Coral Cup, of course I am in disagreement

                              • The Benatar form was franked when he finished 8 lengths adrift in 4th to Finian's Oscar at in the 2m 4f grade 1 at Aintree. I know Le Breuil was pulled up in the same race but Pauling said horse wasn't right and neither was his stable at the time.
