Fox rock was very game and imo was a very good run, however that was a very tough race physically and he was very tired jumping the last. Not a prep I'd like to see at this stage of the year. With bigger targets on the horizon.

I thought he had that won, almost legless before the 3rd came and joined him....

Certainly a player for Cheltenham but I will now add Burning Ambition 2 pts

I will leave this race alone now personally. And go for a couple of big priced ones like young hurricane when theyre in the betting. Might be a few younger horses entered up too nearer the time.

Great to see Nina back over fences today. Hopefully she'll be involved in the 4 miler, kim muir, cross country and foxhunter races at Cheltenham again this year

We have an interesting team of hunter chasers this season including*Unioniste*who will take his chance ridden by his enthusiastic owner David Maxwell at Taunton on Tuesday

He is one one of three hunter chasers David has with us this season, the others being*Vivaldi Collonges*and*Port Melon. Of our other hunter chasers the classy*Wonderful Charm*is set to run at Musselburgh later this month partnered by Sam Waley-Cohen in the race he won last year.

Virak, who has had his problems, and yesterday’s Larkhill winner*Caid Du Berlais*are others to note while the ever popular*Pacha Du Polder*is on course to defend his crown in the Foxhunters’ at Cheltenham which he won a year ago under an inspired ride by Bryony Frost.

Yes definitely. On The Fringe her ride in this again?

I've now got 2.5 pts on Foxrock and 2.5 pts on Burning Ambition NRNB and I'd be happy with just those 2 I think.

I'd forgotton Bryony Frost won on Pachu Du Polder last year... that hardly gets mentioned

Agree that Nina will probably ride On The Fringe in this
Only out of loyalty to a horse that has been good to her
The horse is 12 now and seems to have lost his form
Couldn't even win a run of the mill point on latest start
Staker Wallace appears to be the new Bolger JP horse in this
I would say Derek O Connor or JJ Codd will be hoping Nina rides On The Fringe

Gilgamboa only 10, can be Enda and JPs horse for couple years at least in this sphere I think

Not eligible for Cheltenham this year though

Was anything said about Gilgamboa after today's race - I see he is quoted in the Cross Country.

Didn't think to look.... wouldn't concern me too much though.... is there a strong link between cross country and hunter chasing?

I know horses often get quoted for both, but I mean in terms of how they're trained, what they're exposed to any so on?

Hunter chasers often still go out hunting, jumping gates, bushes, walls etc, cross country courses are designed to contain natural obstacles so I guess there is a close relationship between hunters and cross country.

"He's not qualified for Cheltenham&could run in the Tetratema next&then the Joseph O'Reilly Chase so we'll keep him on the home-front this season.Ground might be an issue with him going back to Aintree as that's his ground there,"

                              Enda Bolger on Gilgamboa

Spent a fair bit of time looking into hunter chasers this evening so hopefully it pays off. MORNING ASSEMBLY was due to run at dungarvan today before being called off and rescheduled due to waterlogging, Sydney Paget is also enters who is a solid yardstick. At this moment in time morning assembly has a chase rating of OR 149 he was 4th in the kim Muir off 150 and 8th in the national of the same mark. That's a huge rating in relation to Hunter chases. with the competative nature of the dungarvan race if he beats Sydney Paget, minella for value , rue hill, and does it well, you will know your fate early as they set a fair bench mark.
                                Course form
                                Graded winner
Running in a much more competative race than burning ambition.
                                20/1 NRNB
