Totally agree with that, course experience is a positive, course experience plus course form is a MASSIVE positive. Lots of horses love it here, lots don't despite how good they are elsewhere.

    • Im finding Apples Shakira quite easy to oppose. Would be noway near 5/2 had those wins not come at Cheltenham and yes, whilst we all know how important course form is, the Triumph will be a completely different test all together. I’d rather take Mr Adjudicator at 8/1 who has experience of big fields and some decent grade 1 form, over AS who has beaten smaller fields in less competitive races.

I have a decent bet on Mr A, his last run at Leops, getting the better of Farclas, was 2 seconds faster than Samcro 30 mins later in the Deloitte, I know other factors are at work but still that equates to around 10 lengths, big chance. The main negative for me is that he was held up at the back in that run, could be a problem in a big field.

        • Personally, I am surprised some prefer Mr Adjudicator ahead of Farclas again. I think Farclas is almost certain to overturn the form in the Triumph. Farclas looks a much more raw animal to my eye with loads of improvement to come, I think its had a great education in its races to date and I am expecting big improvement. I think a stronger pace and more of a test will be perfect for it here, I also think it will love Cheltenham and if within a couple of lengths of anything at the last, its gonna be a huge threat as I think it will relish the stiff uphill finish.

I'm becoming more and more keen on this fella.

Totally agree with you Westo & is my pick in this (will reel in Stormy Ireland coming to 2 out!) - Elliott's said as much in his stable tour too, expecting a lot of improvement from him & is tongue tied to help get the air into his lungs for a charge up the hill!

            • Could be totally wrong here, but I get the impression and general vibe that Mr Adjudicator could be the 3rd string for Mullins in this behind Stormy Ireland and Saldier. Riding arrangements here will be very interesting

Yes, Mullins has a strong hand here and you'd have to give a big chance to whatever Ruby picks. I hoped yesterday's RP article titled "Ruby Walsh runs through his star-studded book of Cheltenham rides" might shed some light but the article was an absolute waste of space.

                • WM has stated that Stormy Ireland is his best juvenile. I haven't considered anything else from his yard. Apples Shakira has my vote.

Me neither, the only 2 I have covered for this are AS & SI.

Unless he has mentioned it again recently I think those comments were just before Mr Adjudicator's last run which was over a month ago. These are juveniles and it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that one of the others has since come on a bundle.

                      • I could ride Sayo, Saldier, Stormy Ireland and Mr Adjudicator. On form, Mr Adjudicator is a Grade 1 winner and he’ll be hard to overlook.

It was a good performance by him to beat Farclas at Leopardstown. Apple’s Shakira and Redicean look very good. Apple’s Shakira stays very well and Triumph Hurdle winners usually do.

Stormy Ireland looked relentless when winning for us, Mr Adjudicator looked a sharpish kind of horse, Saldier could be anything and Sayo is in there as well.

I can’t rule any of them out and it’s going to be a hard call over which one I ride. On form, Mr Adjudicator is the one and the rest you’re just going on potential. I’ll have to have a sit on them all next week and see if one of them gives me a feel that the others don’t.

                        Walsh being typically unhelpful...

The whole article was the same. I could have written it. Offered no insight whatsoever.

As unhelpful as it was to a punter the bloke has been injured and not sat on any of them, if he had put one up then sat on them and changed his mind how annoyed would you have been?

He also does give some inclination on what he has seen visually that Mr Adjudicator will be hard to overlook.

I'm not having a pop at Ruby, it's the journalism.

Would you not expect WM to have told him his best horse?
