Staggering that PM is the price he is depsite beating the favourite three times last year over hurdles.
Footpad has looked the most natural novice chaser I’ve seen but he’s not beaten a lot whereas PM has better Hurdle form.
I think the difference in price is because Footpad has looked a Natural over fences and has some very nice runs backing it up.... Footpad wasn't far behind PM over hurdles but looks to have improved loads as a chaser... wheras we dont know whether PM has improved or stayed the same (or I suppose gotten worse) over fences based on 1 run....
Albeit I can see why PM is a more attractive bet at this stage... but the price looks right rather than wrong IMO compared to Footpad.

I don't see much downside backing PM nrnb at his current price. This market could change on its head in 10 days time.
The advantage is fully on the side of Footpad at Leopardstown and when you take into account hurdling form, unless Petit Mouchoir gets blown away by Footpad next weekend then there will likely be enough optimism in the PM camp that they can reverse form at Cheltenham. And if he did get blown away then there's a strong chance the NRNB will come into play and bail you out. So from anyone looking at this race fresh, a bet on Petit Mouchour has only a small risk really.
Any slight doubts on the suitability of Cheltenham and good ground for Footpad could also be levelled at Petit Mouchoir too?
He's really exciting," said trainer Harry Whittington, who's only housed him since late last year. "Aidan [Coleman, his rider] felt he was sharper for the run and his jumping was tidier. Keeping him in a handicap tells us whether we're good enough for graded races and I think we're pretty set for the Kingmaker.
"He’s got loads of gears and I can't see any reason why we'd step him up in trip."

Pleased with these comments for now
So why enter him in the JLT then?
Perhaps when they realise he can't win the Arkle but the JLT is a very open race things might look a touch different?
Not writing off Bunk Off Early yet as he would surely have won yesterday. However, there would be question marks about whether the occasion was too much last year and I'd be happy for him to stay at home.
On the other hand, and this is purely a personal view, his Leopardstown form is definitely better than his 142 hurdle rating.....

Agree Archie
Stay at home after that
Gone into my notebook for Punchestown
Least impressive performance thus far from Sceau Royal but it's job done and on to the festival now..
Didn't impress me one bit, Footpad jumps even better than Shantou rock there so I'm sure Ruby will have Daryl at it from a long way out. Just need FP to blow away Petit Mouchoir next weekend now..

It's desperate ground at Donny though.
Sceau Royal needs better ground to utilise his speed.
