if he wins I'll call him percy. I'm that sure he won't. Birth certificate for proof.

Not sure how I'll explain the name change to the Mrs.

I think you make a great point Scooby, will definitely reduce my ap bets next year, big prices aren't much use if you lose half of your bets before the tapes go up, then, at best hit a 25-30% strike rate on those that remain. May as well save yourself the stress and take a quarter of the odds nearer the time and give yourself a better chance of a higher strike rate to boot

I think this is something we all will look at after the festival ... I've tried to not have more than 10 pts on any horse ... try and spread the damage

That would be great Scooby, once he's wrapped up you can hand him over to your wife and say"darling, Presenting Percy" happy days

she wouldn't have a clue what I'm on about.

I'm a man of my word, but i really don't want a son called percy.

No offence to any percy's out there.

Not sure I agree with this just yet, admittedly might be swayed with how much I have enjoyed it despite the daily kick in the balls at the moment.

This is why I want to see the stats on the % of non-runners. Easily the best way to get an accuarate picture is for those of us keeping track to give the total numbers backed and the total number that didn't make it due to injury after the Festival (not including not being good enough or going for a different race as we can make a judgement on that). Kev's figures will be particularly informative due to the number of horses he has backed. For me if it is no more than 25% I think AP is still attractive although really important to choose horses whose price will contract considerably rather than just get clipped a couple of points here and there.

                        • American supplemented for the gold cup at a cost of £27,500 driven by what they perceive the ground to be come Friday. I hope some people had him as an EW antipost

                            Interesting.
Will probably make Definitely Red even better value now...

I've not had this happen before, when the exchanges have settled a bet and now the horse is back in.

Is the arguement that now he is supplemented it is a different market?

                              • I would almost argue that it couldn’t be settled until race begins/ final declarations
