Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Heartbreak city will struggle to get into any of those races. He could get into the boys race though, although I think they are planning to skip Cheltenham.

He was very well backed, and going very well before making an error.

He already had a nice Irish rating that would get him in the Ultima with a nice racing weight and without the blunder I think they would have gone up in the weights quite a bit, lessening the chances of winning at the festival.

The positive for me is that they MUST think he is well ahead of his mark when stepped back up in trip, because running toda (without a lucky blunder) would have increased his mark... If I wanted to win at the festival again, I wouldn't have wanted him to win yesterday.
      Hi Kev,
One might ask why he had a run in late feb last year when he already had a mark for the pertempts. My guess is that they feel they need to get a run into him for various reasons.......

      • Did anyone see Renneti's run yesterday? He gave them 10-15L at the start.

He's one to keep a close eye on and where he's going.

        • I wanted to back him for the Coral cup straight after yesterday's race LR but he isn't listed in the betting.

He was brilliantly ridden by Ruby yesterday and wasn't given a hard time off things. He's a rogue but will win a big handicap at some point.

I'm taking it as a positive that that feel he can win it even if he'd gone up in the weights. Not how I would do it if I owned him, but I am sure the trainer knows better than I do and it is better to see horses racing rather than being hidden away.

            • Does anyone else think the O'leary public outburst at Phil Smith with his treatment of Giggs National horses is just a ploy to ensure he gets some beneficial treatment in the Cheltenham handicaps ?
              Or am I too cynical....

I wouldn't put it past them.

It also stinks how WM lost all their horses for the sake of £5 and now having nothing but problems getting his hot pots to the fest.

He's now 14/1 for the Coral Cup NRNB with 365.

Yes - Ball D'Arc being first up (looking for below 140).

I was hoping for double that to be honest. 14/1 is a terrible price.

He was on the radar after he got given an English mark of 137 when entered over the trials weekend. However, his Irish mark has now been amended to 142 so he might now struggle to get in below the ceiling of 145. Very frustrating.

                              • Mall Dini has been dropped one pound by the Irish handicapper to 141 after his 'effort' over the weekend. I doubt very much Phil Smith will pay too much attention to that and I still expect him to be no lower than 145 come Cheltenham.
