  • There's been a bit of debate lately about whether VVM truly stays 3 miles. I'm of the opinion she does and she can certainly hold her own but will likely get found out against a horse like UKWIMH. She'll travel throughout the race the best and look the winner from a fair way out only to be out battled. She'll run a great race but just not quite be good enough imo

Certainly wouldn't argue about backing her to then lay off though. I'd say she goes off fav on the day (probably not the Thursday morning but I think she'd get shorter and shorter throughout the day) if she goes for this.

    • I hope they run VVM in this as she'll make the market. There is no way she should go off favourite but she probably would.

Annie Power couldn't win the world hurdle with a decent prep and I don't have VVM in the same league as AP.

      • Seems a lot of effort and screwed if she doesn't? Maybe wait and see what other bookies do NRNB?

        • VVM is a smart mare but she isn't Annie Power. Remember- she beat very little of note at Chelts last year and her close form with Apples Jade also looks a bit short of the very top table.

UKWIMH has looked a nailed on staying hurdler this year- I was flabbergasted by his win in the Albert Bartlett and he's surprised me yet again this year- doing it pretty easily really.

VVM for me should go to the mares race, Annie should be Champion or nothing, and then it's a case of working out where Augusta Kate should go (in open company I assume) and then that aeroplane that they took the wraps off a couple of weeks back (the name escapes me) but looks like a possible new VVM or Annie Power- surely that thing would win the mares novice event.

          • Glad to see someone else think Annie should be Champion or nothing AF.

I don't think anyone wants her in any other race on here ryan! If she turns up in the mares it is pathetic. I will obviously back her and cheer her over the last flight, but really, come on... the reigning Champion Hurdler in the mares race. Boo you Ricci.

Faugheen is as short as 7/2 with Bet365, but 12/1 with PP and
Nichols Canyon is as short as 5/1, but also 12/1 with PP

(Whilst VVM can get found at 8/1, but 5/1 with PP)
IF we read into PP Prices - they have shortened from 12's a few days ago to just 7/2 for Faugheen...
I know that they have gone NRNB between these two prices but surely this is more than just a market adjustment for the concession...

                • If he ran in the World Hurdle he would be a short price favourite though Leman so I can't see how they could ever lay anything bigger than 7/2, with or without inside information.

Yeah I agree. I read a while ago Ricci talking about her and he said they were planning on retiring her but Susanna wanted to go for one more Champion hurdle.

I agree with that. I'd actaully think Faugheen would go off much shorter. I think VVM would go off almost fav so Faugheen certainly would (whether he SHOULD or not is different of course)...

                              • could jezki really do it? Got a niggling feeling in the back of my mind he might romp home on his comeback run and his price therefore plummets before he does it on the big stage again in March... or is it just wishful thinking
