Big couple of days for bumper clues, two very interesting divisions at Kempton tomorrow and then the listed bumper at Newbury on Saturday, maybe something will finally advertise their crudentials for Cheltenham...
Agree with that - the picture is totally confused at the moment. I suspect this will be another year to be on the English horses; nothing has really impressed in Ireland and there's precious few opportunities now. The race programme is actually not set up to favour the Irish horses; there are only three 'winners' Bumpers for 5 year-old+ Geldings after Christmas and nothing has come out of the first two. We will need to see who turns up at Naas on the 21st. There's still a good number of unraced horses who are prominent in the betting; if they're waiting for better ground there has to be danger it won't come in time now.
No idea (yet) which English horse will win but there's some great value out there for anyone who does have a clue!

What do you like at Kempton Ista ?
Henderson looks to have the brst of them and festival bumper not a race he likes ?

Nothing in particular MG, I see Fry and King have newcomers in the first division and Hendo has a couple if div 2.
Nothing in either division appears in the festival betting but in such an open year with no obvious contender anything that impresses could suddenly be vaulted to the top of the market
That Newbury bumper has seriously cut up with just 7 set to run now.
Ballyandy is likely to be a warm order but he couldn't beat Coeur Blimey at Ascot in December and I doubt that one is considered champion bumper material, so we could be back to square one.....
Willie runs Bleu Berry in the 4:45 at newbury and says if he runs well then would be heading straight for the champion bumper, would have to be smart to beat Ballyandy i feel and is shorter than him in the market for todays race, could be one to look out for having his 1st run from france and i see paul townend comes over from warwick just for this last ride
Correct gjt, Mr M made that very comment on bitchy's Saturday thread, has to be significant Townend hotfoots it from Warwick when the likes of Harry Skelton, Nico de Boinville, Tom Scu, David Bass amongst others are all at Newbury with no ride in the last....
obviously he raced there for no reason, didn't seem to be anything wrong with the horse, just want up to it first time out, probably goes over hurdles next season now rather than for the bumper, ballyandy done that well and subsequently had his odds slashed into 14/1 from 25's, 2nd favourite behind aspen Colorado and augusta kate, find it hilarious that Fulham road is still priced up as joint 2nd fav with the bookmakers even though the horse is supposedly out for the rest of the season... leading those irregular punters along really
So LR was given Coeur Blimey and that one has been shorted across the board today.
Interesting that gelding was a June 2011 foal so will be less developed than many bumper horses of his generation who could be 4 months older/more mature.
He probably also has plenty more improvement in him and the 12s currently available still represents value especially when you consider that the current favourite, Ballyandy, was beaten by Coeur Blimey at Ascot in December.
He's clearly doing good things at home and nothing has really shown their hand as yet....
Coeur B was getting weight from ballyandy at ascot but maybe small trainer bias holding me back from joining the plunge. Is there ant augusta kate news ?
Mullins said on Monday: "Augusta Kate is working nicely. We've sort of said we'd go for the Sandown race but we might rejig it and go to Cheltenham instead. She is very hard to evaluate as she does not show at home what she does on the racetrack.
"So far so good with her. We had nominated Sandown but I'd say everything is open at the moment."
"Lucky Pass is not going to Cheltenham. Battleford is likely to run and Bacardys is another one. Very Much So goes. Some Neck will probably stay at home."
I really really want to pull the trigger on Augusta Kate, but I just don't trust Willie in saying it's an option now. I think I'll wait until Saturday/Sunday when I feel that 365 will go NRNB on all races.
