Backed sceau royal in the ante post market at 25/1, was happy to see how he won yesterday however what else would you expect for a horse goimg off at 1/6, nonetheless his odds for the triumph were then slashed to 14/1, i felt the form of his previous win was well and truly franked by tne runner up ardien du pont in the finale hurdle at chepstow, a running that I thought put him into the reckoning for the triumph as well, i also got ivanovich gorbatov at 7/1 2 weeks ago in some ante post yankees only to see his price now down as low as 11/4 in places

anyone know anything about this one

            Zubayr- JCB Triumph Hurdle (20/1)

This year’s Triumph doesn’t look to be a particularly strong one. Aidan O’Brien has the current favourite, Ivanovich Gorbatov, though the horse is only favourite on the basis of a gutsy performance over Christmas at Leopardstown when denying a strongly fancied filly of Willie Mullins for Rich Ricci Let’s Dance. As for the British contingent, Who Dares Wins was very impressive at Doncaster for Alan King when bolting up by twenty lengths in the same Grade 2 that last year’s Triumph winner Peace & Co also won by a wide margin.

However, I still think the winner of the Trumph is yet to have run, and the horse that I am talking about is Zubayr of Paul Nicholls. Some may have already heard the name, as Paul Nicholls has talked about how excited he is to get this juvenile started. It has been reported that Nicholls and Willie Mullins had a bidding war in France for what was described as a”gorgeous individual” and the “standout of those on offer”. The champion trainer paid a whopping €380,000 for the horse, who comes from the same flat operation that gave him the 2011 Triumph winner Zarkandar.

He could be half of his current price on the day of the race, depending on what he does when he makes his debut for Paul Nicholls, and at 20/1, in what looks to be quite a weak Triumph field, he could be a colossal price at the moment.

“Sceau Royal must be one of the fastest jumpers I’ve ever ridden and he didn’t put a foot wrong when winning the Chatteris Fen Juvenile Hurdle last Friday,” said Jacob, speaking in the Monday Jury in the Racing Post.

“He’s getting more and more professional in his races and he’s the best British horse in the Triumph picture at the moment. There’s a long way to go but I’m very excited by him.”

I would also be taking a piece of the 33/1 on Leoncavallo(even with JF's bad record around the track). He is closely matched with SC and looked the stronger stayer whe getting up in October. He was also going well enough around Cheltenham last month before unseating at the last.

Will he definetley run in this race?

Leoncavallo had the best piece of juvenile form last Summer when winning under a double penalty at M Rasen then following up at Wetherby beating Sceau Royal and that one has won 3 on the spin and is rated 144 (and will rise after his win last Friday) he is the highest rated juvenile, when the pair re-opposed at Cheltenham they were locked together when Leoncavallo unshipped Aiden Coleman so it makes no sense that Leoncavallo should be 33s.
That said, not sure there have been many Triumph winners who spent the previous Summer racing at Stratford, Newton Abbot and Market Rasen......

I agree Ista, thats why I would be willing to take a gamble on his last run. He seemed to handle the track ok but I would like to see another run in him before the big race.

He's worth a punt but I would be concerned that he's had 13 runs in 14 months and the longest rest he's had is 10 weeks last May/June, some horses thrive with racing and can't sit in a box for long, perhaps Leoncavallo is one of them, but I'd like to hear someone connected say it....

Yes, that is a concern. The same concern I have over Wicklow Brave this year.

Munir with another nice set of juveniles. Had 1-2 last year and 2 in 2014,

                          Fixe le Cap

Henderson said: 'He's a hard horse to weigh up, especially if you see what we see at home. He wouldn't give any indication, he comes out each morning and wants to play around. He's full of life but his work is mysteriously boring.

'Daryl rode him on Saturday with two quite nice horses but he couldn't, or didn't want to, go with them. He's got a lovely attitude to life.

'His life is very much in front of him, he jumps beautifully and loves this sort of ground so we may as well plough on and have a look at him in a better race.'

Assessing options before the Festival, Henderson told Racing UK: 'The obvious one is the Victor Ludorum at Haydock, I don't see Kempton being his track, Haydock is sharp as well but the ground will be slower there.

'We were half-thinking we might get a mark for the Fred Winter (juvenile handicap hurdle at the Festival), but I think we've kissed goodbye to that.

'I don't think we'd run him on fast ground but good ground would be OK, we just need to see him in a race with a bit of pace.'
Love to know who the two horses he worked with were ,,
