Bachasson being punted on the back of his Galway and Sligo wins but out too early ?

Go Native the only winner in recent times to take in Galway? Winners usually start in Nov/Dec ?

i can see why he is being backed to be honest, he looked very fresh and even more sketchy over his hurdles!. i have a feeling willie wanted him out sooner than later just so he can put a couple of races into him, i see a lot of improvement coming and needed! but i would be a backer at 12s over a layer!.
Also i know its very very early but there doesnt seem to be anything stoned on for the supreme and im no fan of moon racer for is thats for sure

      Welcome to the board griff.

Mayo heard something about Bachasson before he ever showed up on the course so i think he is probably with you . I am not against him as such just wondering what way he will be campaigned from here on. Think something like 28 out of the last 30 winners had less than 5 runs before the Supreme. Maybe they will keep him going to Listowel take a break and come back at Christmas. anyway Willie seems to know what he is doing

Thank you for the welcome old vic!
It's exactly what I was thinking, he wants to get a couple of runs into him to get him know what it's all about, then put him away school him a fair bit then unleash him over Xmas time. But this is what makes it all fun isn't it, trying to solve the puzzle. I sent the misses into coral today to have a bit on him and they are going 14s but it isn't advertised yet for some reason? Scared?

Good looking performance but as already stated it is rare you see the supreme winner in July. The 7/1 BetVictor and Betfair Sportsbook are offering is laughable.

Welcome on board griff and ballybeen.

My take on this is that Mullins now has so much ammo he needs to get some of it out early season to keep owners happy. That Long Dog yesterday looked another likely lad.

I know its not right to compare codes but zafayan got beaten by 16 lengths and had run the Ascot Go,d Cup winner to just over a length giving a pound on his previous race. that could be very solid form and worh seeing how ones behind do now.

I managed to get a few quid on Bachasson at 16's the time before Galway, he looked highly impressive then, same ownership as UDs too, so will be well targeted, Supreme looks the likely route to me, could take in something in France to get some experience into him.

There's a Ferguson horse who finished 5th in the 2013 Arc, he's hacked up in a couple of weak novice hurdles but clearly has class, Penglai Pavilion, he's currently quoted 33s which I though was interesting....

Wasn't a bad arc either - look at horses behind him

Zafayan gets another 2. Tigris River hardly a Cheltengam horse and has won by as easily from Zafayan as bachasson

Any of you Irish boys know anything about this one ?

TOWNSHEND – Lord Of England (GER) – Trikolore (GER) (Konigsstuhl (GER))

Another Harold Kirk purchase for Willie Mullins comes in the form of Townshend, who cost €170,000 at the Arqana Summer Sale. The four-year-old son of Lord Of England won his only start in France when landing the Prix De Royan at Auteuil for trainer Joel Boisnard. “I loved him” and “he was an outstanding individual” are a couple of the comments to come from Kirk, who is clearly very excited by his latest recruit.

Champagne Fever, Vautour and Douvan have landed the three previous renewals of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and Townshend, who will still be a novice this season, looks to have the profile of a horse that may be one of Mullins’ leading hopes to make it four-in-a-row. Champagne Fever may have been firmly on the radar having won the Champion Bumper the previous season, however both Vautour and Douvan were French recruits who went straight over hurdles. With none of the Mullins bumper horses from last season making huge appeal, at least as Supreme types, Townshend could be the one to follow.

                            Or

NAMBOUR – Sholokhov (IRE) – Nanouska (GER) (Dashing Blade (IRE))

The Punchestown Festival throws up five days of brilliant racing in Ireland, and it was the final race to conclude the meeting that threw up one of the most exciting prospects. The concluding bumper went the way of Nambour, providing yet another winner for the Willie Mullins juggernaut. Now, for those of you who know I’m a Don Cossack and Gigginstown fanboy, it will be of a little surprise to see me so excited about another smart Gigginstown horse out of Sholokhov, who is the sire of the mighty Don Cossack. And it’s not just simply the connection to ‘The Don’ that gets me excited.

Nambour traveled through the race powerfully, always looking in control under a confident Patrick Mullins. Shaken up briefly, he put the race to bed with ease and in doing so marked himself out as a horse of big potential. The form might not be overly strong, time will tell, yet the winner looks destined for bigger things. Like Don Cossack and the majority of Gigginstown horses we may not see the best of Nambour until he goes over fences, but I’m hoping he’ll still hit the heights over hurdles in the meantime.

Hi Johnno, Mark Howard publication is out in September with a feature from Rich Ricci and also from Willie, this may throw some light on these two, but if anyone has any info beforehand then greatly appreciated
