I think it's the right decision for the horse; wait another year for a crack at the Gold Cup, but it does leave a sour taste. Mullins has been particularly bad this year for giving misinformation about where his horses are heading; does he actually expect punters to believe he has no idea what races suit so many horses until the last minute or when a decision is apparently made on a whim?

Vautour late switch, Black Hercules late switch, Yorkhill late switch, Bellshill late switch, Vroom Vroom late switch, Annie Power late switch, Shaneshill late switch......its a no brainer to forget ante post betting unless NRNB!!!

I have to say, Mullins couldn't have hand picked a worse way to start the Festival. I won't argue with the decision, it makes sense and it's theirs to make, but the way Rich Ricci's handled this is extraordinarily naive.
We all know the comments, but to delete the YouTube video is a weasel move. Gold Cup backers can't follow him into the Ryanair as the price is prohibitive. This whole episode isn't going away, it's all ante post backers will talk about in the build-up to next year.

I sympathise with all Vatour backers for gold cup but I never saw him running 2 of his against each other, not what any of you want to hear right now which I accept.
Find some winners and I hope any ante post losses are recoverd with interest, good luck all

I simply won't back Vautour, even if he's even money. I suspect that there are problems with his work and he may well be a stone, or more, under his best.
I've planned to back Josses Hill for a while, and seeing as Paddy Power have given me £25 free bets for my army of 2nd place horses, they're going on Josses Hill @ 18/1. No each way, straight win.

I'm happy to take a punt on something at a massive price with free bets. Part of the collateral damage is that his Gold Cup backers can't exactly follow him into the Ryanair at that price.
Lee Mottershead, Alastair Down & Paul Kealy got it right in today's Racing Post. If Vautour wins, it should be greeted by silence. Not to punish the horse, but Ruby, Mulling and Ricci all have a hand in this and are all accountable. Rather than enhance the Ryanair at the expense of the Gold Cup, they've weakened both races and the Festival is worse off.
With no Coneygree and no Vautour, the Gold Cup is now a bang average renewal. This was supposed to be one for the ages. Not to be.Last edited by stephensmith84; 16 March 2016, 09:56 PM.

IMO There is nothing wrong with Vautour, he's 100% - Ruby said as much on C4 this morning.
All this 90% b****cks is just part of the Mullins/Walsh/Ricci axis of evil smoke screen.
Mullins squirmed horribly on Tuesday when asked why he wasn't going for the GC.
I think he'll be backed off the boards this afternoon go off at about 4/6 and then win by half the track metaphorically giving a large V sign to all the punters who backed him for the Gold Cup.
