  • Agreed Mr M, but that's the case every year, Irish races in Dec, Jan and Feb are generally run on deep ground and you usually have to go to undulating UK G1 tracks to find better ground and of course Cheltenham has been heavy for months.

Best form guide to the festival is previous festival form for me, doesn't help when making their first trip across the Irish sea of course but for many a look into the form book from last year and beyond is always useful

All true isty, that adds weight to the Djakadam argument, nice and fresh with a racecourse gallop under his belt, still be a worry about the injury healing cleanly and no residual psychological problem, but form wise he looks to be the one with least encumberance

      • Yep, I'll go along with that Mr M, the noises are all positive from the camp so the injuries must be of no concern, the mental issue would worry me more especially as the horse has now fallen twice at the track though how much they remember these things is unknown....

        • It's ravin loony time again, The noises coming out of the yard seem to be suggesting growing confidence around Djakadam, even Ruby stating that he wouldn't put anyone off backing him. Then there are strengthening rumours of VVM running in the Ryanair, does this not raise the possibility of the appearance of Vautour in the QM, or at least suggest that it's not totally out of the question. Seeing as it's nrnb on all 3 races I've helped myself to an ew treble, then becomes either a double or single if 2 go alternate routes.

          • I can't wait to get really stuck into the handicaps that's where we are going to be able to find some real value but it's going to be 2/3 weeks until that is possible i think, i think for now I'm going to leave my ante posts as they are, even though i've been put off by a lot of negative runs recently i'm sure the majority of them can turn it around after a short break and hopefully some better ground at Cheltenham which we have to remember is not guaranteed this year with the weather as it is and the track duly got a nice churn last Saturday from the runners in the heavy ground, I thought the last race at musselburgh may have given a nice clue to the festival, thought Taglietelle made some nice late headway under a big weight to come 3rd, trainer advised before hand he was just hoping to finish 5th or 6th to qualify for the festival where he finished a decent 4th last year

            • Time to keep the heads lads.

Graham Wylie must be gutted though. Up For review, Shaneshill and Bellshill all flopping recently.

Mine would start with Southfield Royale, then perm some from those that have performed well in last few weeks, Tommy Silver springs to mind,

                                Which races MMG ?

I was thinking of some of Venetias but she has a poor Festival record I think ?
