Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

It's true they all say that Coneygree needs soft ground, but he has won and performed well on good to soft ground, i believe the only reason they dont run him on real good ground is because how delicate a horse that Coneygree is, i think he could perform on ground that is leaning more to good than soft, but either way i can only see soft in the going come the festival in march again

It will take a special horse to beat Coneygree

Agreed. Plenty of potential out there...Can they hack it when the chips are down though?

Completely agree, but if they all stay fit we're in for a vintage Gold Cup because for me there are a few special horses out there.
Vatour and Don Poli are genuine Gold Cup contenders and Don Cossack could stay too, I'd love to see that four line up and when you throw in last seasons 2nd and 3rd you have probably the strongest field in years.
March is still a long way off though...

I ended up watching Vautour winning his race at the festival during the week. It was the performance of the week.

Do we now add Cue Card's name into this mix ?

The Cue Card performance looked more of a Gold cup prep than the Vautour one, early days of course but I'd be more inclined to side with CC at this stage, already covered on Vautour but he has a lot to prove regarding the distance.

5/1 is a proper punting price for Cue Card in the king george.

                    Agreed.
I'd expect a few to swerve the race too so whilst it's got the look of a second Gold Cup I don't see them all going....

Definitely, but like Cue Card, wouldn't you wish you had this kind of form in another year ?
This has the makings of being a ridiculous gold cup, the depth of which I've never seen....

Have to be happy with that start to the season for Don Poli. Saddle slipped on final circuit and was up against Many Clouds who'd already had a run into him. Still hits that lazy spot but if he's within touching distance of the leaders in March at the bottom of the hill, you'd be a brave man to not fancy him.

I was quite impressed with how much he found when he came under pressure about three out, that's the mark of a solid stayer to me.

Mr McG has called it right with Djakdam looking like Ricci no 1 for the gold cup.Paddy Power have got Vautour out to 7's and Djakdam at 6's and they seem to call it right re the Mullins horses more times than not.

Yes that's interesting and the same firm have cut Vautour to 5/2 for the Ryanair, I'm not ripping my QM tickets up yet though.
