Cheltenham Wednesday thread - links to races below

Yankee discussion first below ..general discussion after

Objective: To pick a horse that we can collectively back in an official Fat Jockey yankee.

We would like to find a winner at more than 8/1 but up to the Day 2 judge. Blame Love Racing if it all goes wrong

What to do now: Post your suggestion on the threads below for a decent priced winner on day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival

Try to include the reasons behind your suggestion. This will help the judges understand why you have selected the horse.

Please also leave a copy of your suggestion in this thread for easy reading. I will be looking into each and every suggestion seriously and don't want to miss any.

OV - thanks for adding the FJ Acca's in this forum.

Though my post above should have been moved to Day 3 once the thread is ready.

I have no say in the day 2 suggestions. The weights should play a big part on this day so worth waiting another couple days before looking into the handicaps.

Already put this up on the RSA thread but will stick it here too, day 2 selection

Kings Palace, not the 8/1 we were looking for but a strong fancy for me. Jumps exceptionally well for a novice, travels like a dream, hasn't been given a hard time with a to-the-minute prep including something akin to a racecourse gallop, and extreme confidence from the Pipe yard such as they normally reserve for horses that they fully expect to win, he carries all my hopes and money in this [up to now]

Have already mentioned him on the Neptune thread but wil re-iterate here for clarity.

Day 2 Selection: Ordo ab Chao
              Race: Neptune
Odds: 16/1 generally (20s in a few places)

I've been sweet on him for a while. Won a grade 2 lto beating the highly regarded value at risk and vago Collognes at Cheltenham so already has proven course form. Alan King regards him as one of his best novices in the yard and he should improve for better ground. On top of his obvious credentials there is also the fact that the neptune market is beginning to cut up nicely. Nicolls canyon is the clear favourite but arguably should be going for the supreme. I reckon he will stay but his best flat ratings all came on soft ground, as did his performance last time out and I'm hopeful his front running style over a longer distance could set the race up. Parlour games and outlander come next and they have obvious chances. Then there is Windsor park and better ground is likely to see him go for the Albert Bartlett. Then there are the likes of Shanehill (supreme), kilcrea vale (unlikely to line up) and tell us more (also not guaranteed to line up). If all went well Ordo ab Chao could well end up being about 4th in the neptune market with an obvious chance and I can guarantee he won't be 16/1 nearer the day when all the non-runners are taken out.

I would offer Very Wood in the RSA as a value bet. Cheltenham form. Resurgent trainer. Owner has great record in the race and buys chasing types. NRNB the wat to go.

Meade mentions VW and WW will either run in RSA or 4 Miler and will keep them apart. Nina will ride whoever runs in 4 Miler.

I like Southfield Theatre each way for value, excellent festival form and at 8-1 makes more appeal than the first 2. Not sure if Coneygree will be here or GC but big threat to them all wherever it goes.

Short headed in Pertemps last year by Fingal Bay, was top weight I believe. Looks a progressive horse and top stable, PN really likes it.

There has been constant money for this horse all week.

Do we set a deadline day for judges to decide?

Would be my pick as well. The only drawback is he is ground dependent. Think he is cracking each way value on good ground.
