Does blaklion go for this rather than Neptune ?

Don't think the result in Warwick did much for VDR form.

Just had a look at him now Paz. Could go either way I think.

After race at Limerick Mon, 29th Dec, 2014 (1st) €œHe has great heart and battled back well. Hopefully it is onwards and upwards. He'€™s never going to be a horse that will win by more than a small margin. He was very tough. My mother did a great job after his fall the last day. It was a heavy fall and we feared the worst when it happened. €œI think there will be plenty more big days in this fellow. He'€™s not quite a Faugheen who won it last year. He'€™ll need to step up to go to Cheltenham, but in fairness he has been stepping up so far. Ms Margaret Mullins
After race at Cork Sun, 2nd Nov, 2014 (1st) He's good and tough and my staff and Danny (her son) have done a super job with him and Adrian gave him a great ride. I think he is special but all has to go the right way and he'll stay on the novice route now. He has won over two miles and three miles so could go back to two if you want. Ms Margaret Mullins
After race at Fairyhouse Sun, 6th Apr, 2014 (1st) I'm delighted with him. We'll keep him a novice for next season. He had a little problem last year and we missed the whole season with him. He had a bruise in his joint. We did a little job on him in Fethard Clinic and it looks good now. Ms Margaret Mullins
After race at Punchestown Sat, 27th Apr, 2013 (1st) he won his point to point and is tough, stays and gallops. He'll make a lovely three miles horse and he handles that ground. He should be a nice novice over hurdles next season and will go out to grass now. Ms Margaret Mullins

          Another one o consider ?

TEA FOR TWO, the runaway winner of Saturday's Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton, will stick to novice company at the Cheltenham Festival, despite being quoted for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.

The Nick Williams-trained six-year-old bolted up by 16 lengths under Lizzie Kelly and was made a 20-1 shot for the World Hurdle.

However, his part-owner Jane Williams - Nick's wife and Kelly's mother - said on Sunday morning he will not be entered in the stayers' Grade 1.

"I said yesterday the World Hurdle might be interesting because he's a novice and everyone criticises his jumping," she said.

"In a smaller field like that he wouldn't get knocked about or hustled and bustled, but I've got my other good horse [Aubusson] for that so I wouldn't enter Tea For Two in it, no.

"I'd have thought we'd stick to novice company."

Tea For Two is now three from four over hurdles and the easy nature of his win at Kempton shocked Williams.

"I'm not a very confident person," she added on At The Races. "I'd made up all the reasons why the other horses could win and we couldn't so I was surprised he won and amazed he seemed to win so easily."

Tony Martin would have sacked Lizzie for that ride yesterday

Talking in Monday jury in RP Lizzie said she thought Albert Bartlett might suit tea for Two best. First no cheltenham then World Hurdle now Albert Bartlett ...you'd be better off waiting for NRNB - that is mullinsesque !

Has Nick Williams had a festival winner ?

Mahler Lad entered to run at Bangor on Monday. Is me only ante post bet in this race so far. Looking forward see how it goes.

He was one of Mark Howards horses to follow - beat Bordini in his point to point but I am guessing you knew that

Donald McCain is another big supporter of Irish point-to-points and he has acquired a plethora of high-class recruits over the years, most notably the recently-retired Peddlers Cross. The Cheshire-based trainer has been active during the ‘off season’ buying fresh talent and arguably one of his most interesting acquisitions is the unbeaten MAHLER LAD. A length-and-a-half winner between the flags at Maralin in March, he beat a couple of Willie Mullins-bound opponents when in the care of Colin Bowe. Expect him to contest a bumper before being sent hurdling.

I followed one or 2 of Mark Howards as you can tell with me Ante Post bets. Other lot are me own. Usually gives a few good tips before Jump season starts : ) Need all the help we can get when Festival starts.

One jump ahead is a good read.

                        McCain form still ropey ?

The trouble with this race is that they all have form on soft. Anything that will improve for better ground ?
