The 2m5f Ascot Chase run in mid February has Grade 1 status. The race was introduced to the program in 1995 and has an elite roll of honour including Tiutchez, One Man, Kauto Star, Voy Por Ustedes, Monets Garden and Riverside Theatre.
The 2012 winner Riverside Theatre followed up his win here with success at the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

Cue Card won the 2013 renewal under Joe Tizzard. It was Joe’s seventh Grade 1 win and first since winning the 2010 Champion Bumper on the same horse.
