The Betfred Bowl Chase was the feature race on the opening day of the Aintree Festival but now shares top billing with the repositioned Aintree Hurdle. The race is run over 3 miles 1 furlong.

Jockey: Noel Fehily, Tony McCoy and Timmy Murphy have both ridden two winners in the last decade. Barry Geraghty last rode the winner in 2002.
Starting Price : Before Cue Card last year and Silvinciavo Conti in 2015 ust one favourite (Exotic Dancer 2007) had won the race in the previous twelve years. Three horses have won at more than 10/1 in the 12 including Follow the Plan at 50/1 in 2012.
