The 2015 Greatwood Gold Cup will be run at Newbury racecourse on 28 February. The race is a Handicap Chase run over 2 miles 4 furlongs and has Grade 3 status.
The race has had a relatively short history being first run in 2004. Madison du Berlais is probably the most significant winner on the roll of honour. Barry Geraghty rode one of his first significant winners for current boss Nicky Henderson on Isio in 2004.
Paul Nicholls has been the dominant trainer winning six of the last eight renewals and on seven occasions in all. (The 2006 race was a dead heat).
