The 2012 Monets Garden Old Roan Chase is scheduled for this Saturday at Aintree.
Last years winner Albertas Run doesn’t make it this year but there are a host of top class entries including Poquelin, Wishful Thinking and Noble Prince. The race has Grade 2 status but is run as a limited handicap with a lowest weight of 10st 4lb and highest weight of 11st 10lb. We calculate that this puts Pacha Du Polder and Mad Max on 10st 8lbs if Poquelin runs. Giorgio Quercus is the last horse to get into handicap proper by our reckoning.
