The final entries for the feature event of Listowel Race Week – the 2012 Guinness Kerry National – are in. The weights have taken a big hike with Follow the Plan, Forpadytheplasterer and Muirhead all withdrawn. All 18 horses left in now race from within the handicap proper. David Pipe’s Premier Dane is favourite with Tome Scudamore booked for the ride. AP McCoy is jetting in to take the ride on Alpine Eagle. Ponmeoath a former two time winner is back and although now very much a veteran gets in of 10st 4lbs. David Casey is the man on top. Jockey Barry Geraghty has teamed up with Galway Festival winner Wellforth as he seeks his third successive win in the race. Ruby Walsh is another jockey with a great Kerry National record and relies on Willie Mullin’s Themoonandsixpence. Paul Carberry teams up with Caduceus.
