The 2013 renewal is due to take place on Saturday 26 October. The race was introduced in 2004 and has become associated with Nicky Richard’s great grey Monets Garden – a three time winner between 2007-2010.
Three time Cheltenham Festival winner Albertas Run was the winner of the 2011 race under Tony McCoy. For Non Stop won the 2012 renewal and later finished a credible third in the 2013 Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival behind Cue Card and First Lieutenant.
This year the Alan King trained Walk On and Philip Hobbs Wishful Thinking are joint favourites at 7/2 on the first betting show. Wishful Thinking finished second 12 months ago.
