The Betfair sponsored Denman Chase is a Grade 2 chase run at Newbury over a distance of three miles. The 2013 renewal is scheduled to take place on February 9th.
In 2012 race was renamed the Denman Chase after the 2008 Gold Cup winner. He did win this race as his final prep on the way to that Gold Cup but was twice a beaten favourite in it. Denman did of course win two Hennessy Gold Cups at the track. Kauto Star also won this race en route to his 2007 Gold Cup success.
